Fitrix Permanent Licensing
Warning, your Fitrix software will only
operate for 30 days from the time of initial installation if you have not
installed your permanent installation keys.
The Fitrix Installation that you have completed by now sets a temporary 30 day license. In order to complete the permanent licensing of the product, you will need to obtain and install permanent ‘installation keys’ from Fourth Generation Software.
Please be aware that there are 4 different products that must be permanently licensed:
a. Fitrix run-time
b. VDT development
c. Four J’s development
d. Four J’s run-time
For each of the 4 products to be licensed, there is a 3 step process:
Step
2: Receive your permanent installation keys from Fourth Generation Software by
email
Step 3: Install your permanent installation
keys
Step 1: Obtain your installation keys and
email these to Fourth Generation Software
Note, you will be asked to send a single email with:
a. Fitrix temporary license codes
b. VDT temporary license codes
c. Four J’s temporary development license codes
d. Four J’s temporary runtime license codes
Recommendation: During these steps, you will be asked to copy and paste information between your Linux host session and your email session. If your email software is available from your Linux host, you can access both sessions from your Linux graphical screen. If your email software is available from your Windows PC, you should access your Linux system from your Windows PC as follows: Click on Start, click on Run, key in: telnet <put the name or ip address of your Linux host here>. This will allow you to access both sessions on the same workstation so that you can copy and paste between them.
A – Send an email with your
temporary license to obtain your permanent licenses:
During the Fitrix installation you were instructed to copy and paste your Fitrix temporary licenses into an email and address this to ‘licensemaster@fitrix.com’.
If you forgot to do this, you can still recover the codes by following the instructions below.
Login to your Linux host system with the ‘root’ username and password.
At the ‘$’ prompt, key in:
/fitrix/bin/fx_resend_license.sh <return>
Highlight the text between the dashed lines
