What the Linux host installation will
do:
The Linux host installation process will install files and perform several setup steps on your Linux host system. In case you would like to know what part of your system will be affected, we have provided a summary here:
1) The system file ‘/etc/services’ is modified by adding these new services:
fgmn 200x0/tcp # VM for Genero
fx_dev_srv 200x1/tcp # IDS dev for Genero
fx_prod_srv 200x2/tcp # IDS prod for Genero
fx_train_srv 200x3/tcp # IDS train for Genero
Before these changes are made a backup of ‘/etc/services’ is made to ‘/etc/services_fitrix’.
2) A subdirectory named ‘fitrix’ is created under the directory specified during installation. All products are installed here.
3) A symbolic link is created in ‘/’ (root directory) that points to the subdirectory mentioned above. For example:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 May 21 08:10 fitrix -> /var/opt/fitrix
The Fitrix Documentation Guide included with the product media contains complete documentation for all aspects of the Fitrix product suite. Few people have the time or reason to study all of it during an evaluation. For this reason, the Documentation Guide includes the above recommended reading lists.
