Easy to use question and answer configuration template
Manufacturers that offer items with multiple configurations no longer need to rely on highly experienced salespeople and order takers with deep product knowledge to interpret what the customer's requirements are. The Fitrix Product Configurator walks them through a series of predefined text-based questions. These questions are presented in a specific order with predefined answers that are selected by the user. The answers to these questions will then trigger responses which the configurator uses to ultimately define the options to be added to the item. This process ensures that the configuration is error free and in compliance with any standards the product it must adhere to.
Real time calculation of cost, price and profit margin
Configured items have base bills of material and labor routings and dynamically added items and labor steps activated by answers to questions. As the item is configured a real time calculation of cost, price and profit margin is performed and displayed on the product configuration screen.
Useful in "what if" scenarios
The configurator simulator displays the material availability and what affect it will have on your production resources. This simulator can be used before the actual order is placed for the item.
Save frequently used configurations to cut down on data entry time
When a configuration is generated, a user-defined 'Catalog' identifier can also be assigned. This is especially useful when a specific configuration is requested often. When a configurable item is entered on a sales or production order and the user is prompted to enter a configuration, they may select or enter this catalog identifier, and the configuration questions and answers will automatically display as they were originally defined. This saves additional data entry and ensures that configurations are entered exactly the same as a previous occurrence. The catalog-based configuration can then be accepted as-is or adjusted to reflect specific requirements.
